How the Speakers Bureau works

Looking for someone to speak to your group on a particular subject? Have questions about a certain aspect of crime and punishment in New Zealand? We have the speaker for you.

And the best thing about this service? It's free.

It's also really easy. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1.

If you haven't decided what sort of speaker you are after we can help. You can browse our speakers by name or by subject. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list so if you don't see exactly what you're after we can still help.

Step 2.

Get in touch with us. The best way to do that is by sending us an email.

Step 3.

Fill in the registration form we send you back. You will be asked to identify a preferred speaker from the website, and set out your area of specific interest. Alternatively you can ask the Speakers Bureau Coordinator to make an appropriate choice.

Step 4.

Based on what you've told us, we'll match you with a speaker. Please note that you will not have any contact with the speaker until they have agreed to accept the engagement. Once they've agreed, we will send you their contact details.

Step 5.

You and your speaker need to negotiate a few key points. Although there is no charge for the service, you may need to meet the cost of things like transport, accomodation and out of pocket expenses for the speaker.

Step 6.

You hold your event. If you want us to publicise it on our Events page, just send us an email.

Step 7.

Feedback time. About a week after the engagement, the Speaker’s Bureau Coordinator will send follow up emails to you and your speaker asking for feedback on the engagement. We appreciate you taking the time to do this as it helps us to help you better in the future.

At any stage in this process, feel free to get in touch with us.
